We are back in Denver and sporting our shiny new 28th place medals. Ok, they don't give medals for anything over 5th place but for our first time out we are still happy that we didn't fall off the stage. Of course we had higher expectations. Having members in the group who have achieved as high as 3rd, 11th and 12th in our past we were hoping to squeeze into the 20 this year. BUT, we also had a lot of road blocks going into this contest season so we knew we shouldn't expect anything. So, we are happy that we were there, we know how many quartets just dream of making it to the big show so we are very grateful. We made the most of our time in Philly. Saw some old friends, made some new ones, had some great coaching sessions and enjoyed enough cheesesteaks to last us the rest of the year. We want to take this opportunity to thank our coaches, Cindy Hansen-Ellis and Joe Cerutti. They helped to make our experience really wonderful and we are looking forward to spending more time with them this year. We also want to thank Clay Hine and Tim Brooks who also took time out of their busy schedule to help us out this year. Of course then they decided to sing together, and jumped right into the top 10. Thanks to all of our family and friends for all your support. We plan on working hard this year and hopefully make a jump to 27th in 2011. Boiling Point Quartet PS. The Side Street Ramblers were 28th their first year out and those old dudes have gold medals now. Just something to think about. Site Updates 06/03/2010
We have recently made updates to the site. New design, updated calendar and new photos in the media section. Feel free to look around and send comments if you would like. One fun feature of our site is the fact that we will be changing the design whenever we want. It may change daily, weekly, or monthly. You will never know so please stop back often to see what's new. BPQ This post comes a bit late but we are happy to announce that we qualified for the BHS International competition in Philadelphia. We are very excited to have qualified our first time out and are hoping to make the Rocky Mountain District proud. Thanks again for all the folks in Rapid City and to the Shrine of Democracy Chorus for all your hospitality. We had a great time. Hopefully we get a chance to get up there again soon and sing for you. See everyone in Philly!! BPQ Let it snow, Let it snow. 01/22/2010
We were recently invited to sing in Snowmass Colorado to help prepare the visiting skiers for a festive holiday season. We had a great time and had fun seeing if we could sing for 2 hours straight in the frigid cold. While their we were lucky enough to have the actor William H. Macy stop and listen to three or four songs. He seemed to appreciate a good barbershop chord. We couldn't stop to take a picture so we thought we would improvise. Boiling Point Wins! 01/22/2010
Boiling Point Wins the Rocky Mountain District contest with a qualifying score. We want to thank everyone for their hospitality while in Cheyenne. It was so great to hang with so many good friends and the support they gave us while on stage. We can't wait for prelims to see them all again. |
